Illustrator Alex Nabaum was commissioned recently by the ad agency BWP Communications to make a number of large posters (4 x 6ft) to represent each of the main performing arts venues in Salt Lake City. The first poster, which can be viewed below, was made to promote the Capitol Theatre. As seen in the highly developed mockups that proceeded it (according to Alex, creating extra detailed “sketches” was important as they were to be presented to a committee), along with the reference photos taken by Alex, the designs incorporate different elements taken from the actual venue and focuses on themes based on both ballet and the Opera.
