Back in 1996, The Bongo Room used to be THE place to pick up breakfasts and lunches for Chicago freelance photo assistants such as Lisa Predko. Today a full-fledged photographer in her prime, Lisa got a chance to bring her history with the establishment full-circle, as her latest project included photographing its two owners, Derek Robles and John Latino, for the Chicago Reader. The article (linked below) acknowledges that The Bongo Room is turning 25 this year, celebrating its long history and general love from its surrounding community.
Lisa, who happens to be a part of that community, also shared some of her most fond memories with the place on her blog, wishing Bongo Room a “Happy 25th Anniversary” and the best for the “next 25!”.
