Rudy Gutierrez taps into the musical energy of past generations with his latest piece for Saxophonist Kenny Garrett. This colorful acrylic painting can soon be seen on the cover of the musician’s new album “Sounds of the Ancestors”, which is to be released by Mack Avenue Records on August 27th.
In sharing the image, Rudy mentioned what an honor it was to create an art piece for Garrett’s intensely spirit-filled music, adding: “In service of the Ancestors it's on us as artists to acknowledge one another and indeed make the ancestors smile and allow their sounds and visions to come through!” Without a doubt, Rudy (and probably Garrett) have done just that with this one!
