“To infinity, and beyond!”

Jul 26, 2022

When that image of the early universe taken by the James Webb Space Telescope first arrived, it’s safe to say it “broke the Internet”. And for good reason, if you ask us. Never before have we gotten such a clear glimpse of the origin of our Universe! For those who are not in the know, the James Webb Space Telescope is the next great space science observatory following the already impressive Hubble telescope, and it just so happens that our very own Davide Bonazzi created an equally great illustration about it last year! The artwork was commissioned by ESA - the European Space Agency - in two variations: one with a male character and one with a female character.

The hexagon motifs are meant to represent the telescope’s primary (18!) mirror segments of gold-plated beryllium. It was also produced in a limited edition of 100 numbered and signed Fine Art prints with golden details.

Just like we’re excited to see more stunning images by the James Webb Space Telescope, we’re just as excited to see what Davide will create next!
