Touchwood Design's "The Letter" and more...

Mar 04, 2008

Shawn Murenbeeld from Touchwood Design's latest piece "The Letter" was selected to appear in the 17th Applied Arts Photography & Illustration Awards Annual and showcase exhibit in May 2008.

Shawn's personal piece "The Letter "was to create a mood to capture the last grief stricken moments of a father having received word that his son has died. Shawn created many uplifting whimsical pieces in the past and this was an attempt at despair. Not an easy task with wood scraps, popsicle sticks and house paint. The point was to say very little with very little.

Competition 2006 Professional Show receiving a merit.

"Hand Made Music"is a series of three yet unpublished promo cards for local Toronto DJ. DJ Apostol's music samples include everything from old records and computer games to children's instruments. It was important that the art have the same experimental qualities as the music. Carved from wood and assembled from found objects, these images give the listener an idea of what's in store for them.

"Hand Made Music" makes it into American Illustration 26, appears in The Advertising & Design Club of Canada Direction 2007 and is chosen to appear in the 16th Applied Arts Photography & Illustration Awards Annual and exhibit.
