Brian Belefant Shoots Winemakers Delight

Sep 08, 2008

Every year, the Chehalem Winery holds a Celebration of the Arts. The winemakers attend the event for wine tasting and to purchase works for their wine labels.

This year was the 10th annual festival which featured photographer, Brian Belefant.

He showed his latest work, "Oregon Photographed Through Pinot Noir", in which he actually took photos through a camera filter contraption filled with Oregon Pinot Noir. It's part of Brian's ongoing series of work which is entirely photographed through liquids that are relevant to the subject.

Brian also shot Portugal through 20-year-old tawny port, Turkey through Turkish coffee, Montreal through maple syrup, and the American south through Luzianne ice tea. When he was named Photographer of the Year by the International Color Awards in 2006, it was for this work.

The festival this year was held on August 23rd and 24. To read more visit chehalemwines.com.
