Stephan Britt for United Nations of CUPCO

Dec 10, 2008

Stephan Britt is one of 100 international artists participating in the United Nations of CUPCO show in Sydney, Australia. Each artist received a felt template of a CUPCO doll to paint, decorate, embellish, beautify or even destroy. CUPCO then sewed and stuffed each doll and will exhibit them at Damien Minton Gallery from Wednesday, December 10th to Saturday, December 20th, 2008. Other artists include Jeremyville, J.Otto Siebold, Apak, Bwana Spoons and John Burgerman, among others.

CUPCO dolls are hand sewn and painted by Luke Temby. He has made over 350 completely unique dolls since he started making them in 2004, with the most popular ones being Suicide Bomber, Ganesh, Kali, L. Ron Hubbard and Satan. The dolls have been shown around the world, including two major solo-shows.

Stephan Britt’s Big Chief Eyota Eaglebeak doll (as seen below) is un-stuffed, it will be stuffed and sewn by CUPCO prior to the exhibition.
