Dave Anderson's 'SoLost in the Trees"

Jun 06, 2013

If you like treehouses, then you’ll love this SoLost, straight from Crossville, Tennessee with Dave Anderson. Horace Burgess has built the world's largest treehouse in rural Tennessee, straight from a vision he received back in the 80s. After nearly dying from a drug overdose in a tree house Burgess had built, he made a deal with God: if He let him live, Burgess will truly change his ways. As an act of his earnestness, he burnt the treehouse down.

Soon, Horace Burgess had a vision --God wants him to build the world's biggest treehouse. And so, he does. He builds it out of found materials; he builds for nineteen years; he builds a 97-foot-tall treehouse. And he cleaned up, too; these days, Burgess is a Christian minister. But now, the State of Tennessee has forced Burgess to close the treehouse, citing safety concerns. Petitions to reopen the monumental treehouse are underway.

Shot and directed by Dave Anderson.
