Grati Decorates Room At Le Marne Vineyard

Jul 18, 2023

Illustrator and fine artist, Umberto Grati, can be seen sitting on a bed in the room he helped decorate using his wonderful art. The room is located in the farmhouse of Le Marne, which is a vineyard within the landscapes of Piedmont (Italy), also called Langhe-Roero and Monferrato. There, he met with 5 other illustrious colleagues, each having been tasked with decorating a room of their own. According to Umberto, they were all interviewed by journalists and enjoyed each other’s company in what he refers to as “an enchanting panorama”.

As for the subject of his painting, Umberto describes: "The subject is the union between Strength and Lightness. The element that inspired this emotion is water, which adapts to any shape, and which in its most solid dimension manifests itself as a Cloud. He loves clouds because they have the Freedom to assume any shape, the Strength in their mass/shape, and the Lightness in the aerial suspension to overcome the Earth's gravity. This image conveys serenity and harmony. When the cloud acquires anthropomorphic shapes, the harmony is completed. This is where the painting comes from: from the need to convey these sensations to those who will live in this environment.”
