Greg Whitaker recently had the opportunity to work with First Wave, the innovation lab inside Delta Faucet Company. Their newest innovation - the Precision Handwash Faucet, is manufactured using 3D metal printing technology, while In the course of its production, the faucet is touched by no fewer than ten artisans. "I was tasked with showcasing this combination of new technology and traditional craftsmanship for collateral and web materials", comments Whitaker. With Brian Gray of The Flatland at the creative helm, Whitaker spent 2 days capturing different elements of the manufacturing process along with beauty shots of this unique faucet. Whitaker continues to say, "It was fantastic being able to learn about and photograph new manufacturing techniques as well as the gritty, textural environment of a traditional machine shop. Creating product photography of the textured stainless faucet was a challenging bonus to the assignment."
