Food can sometimes be the ideal way to bridge gaps between otherwise vastly different countries and cultures, as pointed out by illustrator Joey Guidone. This is expertly portrayed with his newest piece created for the International Cartoons and Illustrations Exhibition presented by the Chinese TV network CGTN (in collaboration with SIA - Shenzhen Illustration Association). “Around a shared table of cuisine, ideas, and perspectives converge”, said Joey when referring to the image. The overall theme of the exhibit, “Embracing the Diversity of Civilizations”, is meant to call for mutual respect and create bridges of friendship between nations in these uncertain, post-pandemic times. “Let's celebrate the richness of our global tapestry together”, said Joey, adding “and Buon Appetito!”
