“Don’t play with fire”, they say. Or, in the case of this artwork, the apex predators of the ocean.
It started as a foreign-policy tool, but the long-term effects of using semiconductors and other tech as a means of bargaining with China could eventually backfire on both the U.S. and the rest of the world. This is the topic of a recent article in The Wall Street Journal, titled “How the U.S. Stumbled Into Using Chips as a Weapon Against China”. The illustration, which expertly depicts the danger of this tactic, was made by none other than Altpick member John Kuczala.
