In celebrating Hip-Hop’s 50th(!) anniversary this psdy September, photographer Marc Morrison shared some of his most impressive portraits over the years. These include a number of powerhouses in the genre, such as Lil Wayne, Cardi B, and “Hip-Hop royalty”, Ice Cube. “I wanted to post a few images I have produced over the years in an attempt to pay homage to a musical genre that I personally love”, said Marc before sharing some insight into his unique experiences. “Time with these cats is precious but when you are asked to capture a portrait 10 minutes before Ice Cube goes onstage, or when Cardi B wants to shoot after her show at 2 am - you have to be ready to bring it.”
And brought it he did!
