Every year artists from around the world donate postcard-sized original artworks to a NYC group called Visual Aids. These art postcards are then exhibited and sold during "Postcard From The Edge", a benefit event hosted by Visual Aids to raise money for artists living with HIV/AIDS.
For the past 3 years, BC Kagan has created a new postcard for the event, riffing off her signature rock bank portraits with a collage inspired by pop culture iconography.
This years' postcard entitled "Los Lobos y Los Perros" features West Coast music monsters, Los Lobos sharing a backstage with an opening act comprised of everyone's favorite cartoon dogs.
Postcards From the Edge usually culminates in a one-night event at a Soho gallery but this year due to the pandemic, the event was hosted entirely online. BC Kagan's "Los Lobos y Los Perros" was purchased by a buyer from NYC's Upper West Side.
Visual Aids announced this year's postcard artworks were viewed by 2,682 people and the event raised over $100,000.
