Artist Message
Catherine Huerta was born in Tucson, Arizona and grew up in Window Rock on the Navajo Indian Reservation. She is a member of the Pasqua Yaqui Tribe. After graduating from Arizona State University, she attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. She worked in New York as a freelance illustrator for 15 years. She has developed a realistic painting style for digital images of nature, adventure, young adults and sci-fi/fantasy, In 1995 she moved to France, and has been working as a freelance illustrator for clients in Europe and the USA. Most recently she has been working with the French Postal Service creating postage stamps and collectibles. She created the french stamps for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
