Illustrator and Designer, Walter Vasconcelos, lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He works with several newspapers and magazines in Brazil and also for publications in the USA and several other countries. "I'm really enthusiastic about editorial illustration, for if you have liberty to create, heaven is the limit. Ink spots, scribbles, old papers, graphic fonts, old photos and images are totally revisited in my graphic vocabulary." "I use Illustrator and Photoshop, but I work for my drawings not to have a computer-made face. I search the imperfect trace, the gesture, the flaw as if the sketch and the final art could share the same space. I like the idea that an illustration must be read, deciphered. I don't think of this as a kind of hermetism, but rather as a way to preserve a dynamics of creation.
