Donna Grethen studied illustration at FIT and the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her studio is in beautiful Berkeley, California, where she works with her husband, too many plants and their cat. "I am always looking at books, or old type, textile patterns, anything visual, and doodling with a brush and ink in my sketch book." Donna's emotive illustrations have appeared in print, advertising, online and in publishing. Her love of rough Ben Shahn lines, hand lettering, vintage posters, bold colors and collage influence her creative process making work that is both graphic, conceptual and poignant. Donna Grethen's work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, Print and American illustration.
