Grethen Shares Artwork of Hope On Earth Day

Apr 24, 2024

Illustrator Donna Grethen’s new illustration shared on Earth Day is one of hope. To many, the act of recycling and trying to save our natural world may seem pointless, especially when results aren’t immediately visible. But the act of doing something to help clean up the filth can actually make a change. After finishing work on a cover for a book about a river captain in NY state, Donna was inspired to make an illustration which shows that animals and other organisms, given the chance and enough time, can actually survive and repopulate. In sharing this wonderful new artwork, she also leaves us with a little bit of trivia: “Did you know humpback whales live in the Hudson River?”

We sure did not!
