Mark Peterman’s Series Wins “Honorable Mention” In PX3 Competition

Oct 06, 2020

Mark Peterman was happy to share the news that his series “Constructed Realities” has been selected as an Honorable Mention in the Fine Art category of the upcoming Prix De La Photographie Paris (PX3). Says Mark: “It’s really exciting to have this work recognized by an international audience and have work awarded in PX3 for a second straight year.” For anyone unfamiliar with the competition, PX3 “strives to promote the appreciation of photography, to discover emerging talent, and introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris.” As per usual, a selection of the work submitted will be on display in Paris and the winners will be published in the PX3 Annual Book.

A brief description of Mark’s “Constructing Realities” series:
“This is a series of fictional scenes that each represent a suspended moment in time, a void, where the unknown looms. It is a decision making moment where the present separates from an alternate pathway of the futures that didn’t materialize. Only in hindsight can one determine how to interpret that moment with regret or gratitude and wonder about the paths not taken. These scenes are all built with small scale 1/18 size sets and props. When the scale is revealed their fictional nature allows them to exist somewhere between the real and the imagined.”

BIG congratulations to Mark Peterman for this incredible achievement!
