Illustrator Julia Kerschbaumer details the story of her Chocolate Box packaging project "Rose Romance": "I did a lot of research for the characters, as I had some kind of "baroque hipster" or "baroque punks" in mind. But it turned out, that just wouldn''t convey the dreamy romantic idea of the product. So I went back to "just baroque persons" - which soon seemed to be too stiff, too uncozy. To solve that, I put off their shoes – suddenly they had that elegant but casual feel I wanted to achieve! Sometimes it's that simple. To give them a special twist and to link them directly with the product, I incorporated the chocolate's swirl into their big baroque hairstyle. Couples of swans, dogs and cats in love support the dreamy mood of love too."
